The Braves signed veteran right-hander Kyle Kendrick to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Kendrick, 31, has posted a 4.63 ERA over 253 career games (212 starts). After pitching for the Phillies from 2007-2014 Kendrick started 27 games for Colorado in 2015 and had a 6.32 ERA over 142 1/3 innings with 172 hits allowed, 80 strikeouts and 45 walks.
The Braves have six players on their 40-man roster who spent time in the starting rotation in 2015: Julio Teheran (33 starts), Williams Perez (20), Matt Wisler (19), Mike Foltynewicz (15), Manny Banuelos (six) and Ryan Weber (five).
