A report that a wrestling coach at Gwinnett County’s Collins Hill High School was videotaped while engaged in sexual self-gratification at school led to his resignation.

According to documents obtained by the AJC from the Gwinnett County Public Schools HR department, Daniel F. Sinnott resigned March 22 after an investigation prompted district officials to confront him with the evidence.

According to the report, “an email was sent to the school with images on Sinnott engaging in what appears to be self-gratification.”

The email came from an email address making a demand for money, or the video of the event would be sent to the teachers at Collins Hill. The report stated that the author of the email was blackmailing Sinnott.

In a conversation with the HR department, Sinnott admitted that it was him in the video and he was engaged in self-gratification.

The complaint stated that no students were present.

Sinnott was hired by Gwinnett County schools at the beginning of the 2003-2004 school year.
