It’s been an unfortunately messy evening commute Tuesday, including several wrecks that involve tractor-trailers or other large vehicles.

In Roswell, a tractor-trailer wreck on Holcomb Bridge Road at Martins Landing has left only one lane open in both directions, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

In southwest Atlanta, a deadly wreck took place on Fulton Industrial Boulevard at Tradewater Parkway, Fulton County police told AJC.com. All southbound lanes have been shut down, according to the Traffic Center.

A two-vehicle crash involving a box truck and an overturned vehicle is blocking the express lanes and the far left lane on I-675 South near Ga. 148, according to the Traffic Center. One person suffered minor injuries, according to spokesman Michael Black with Henry County fire.

A four-inch gas line broke after a work crew at Five Forks Trickum Road hit it, closing the road for hours, the fire department said. The leak was repaired and the road reopened just before 3 p.m.

Most of North Georgia has warmed into the 50s, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“Tomorrow spring officially gets here just before 6 p.m., and temperatures are going to respond just like they should,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “(Wednesday) is going to be a warmer day.”

Temperatures are expected to fall just shy of 60 degrees Tuesday afternoon, but temps on Wednesday will be closer to the average of 66, according to Channel 2.

The first official day of spring will also see plenty of sunshine, Monahan said. Then clouds will start to spread in later Wednesday ahead of another weather-making cold front.

“This front just doesn’t have much moisture with it,” Monahan said. “It could squeeze out a couple of showers over the North Georgia mountains on Thursday morning, but for most of us, we're going to stay dry over the next couple of days.”

There is a chance for a “little bit of rainfall” across northwest Georgia, he said, less than a half-inch or so.

“I emphasize: Just a little bit,” he said. “It's not going to be much.”

The next chance for showers is late in the day Sunday, according to the latest forecast. But Monahan said the weekend is looking “really good right now.” It will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 70s, he said.
