There is still enough summer left to enjoy some classical music outdoors. Here are three summer festivals where you can enjoy the atmosphere as much as the music and maybe a picnic.
Lenox, Mass.
Tanglewood Musical Center, the famed summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, is celebrating its 75th season of outdoor concerts. The center attracts more than 350,000 visitors each year to enjoy a variety of concerts in the Shed or on the lawn, or to attend one of its educational programs for advanced high school and college musicians. Other ensembles, including the Boston Pops and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus also perform at the location and the anniversary season includes special guests like Yo-Yo Ma and Chris Botti. Concerts run through October.
