Braves right-hander Arodys Vizcaino had no issues with his right index finger during his last rehabilitation appearance with Triple-A Gwinnett and is set to return from the disabled list Wednesday.

Adding Vizcaino back to the bullpen should provide a major boost for the Braves. He’s been their most consistent reliever while pitching primarily in a set-up role with a 2.38 ERA over 37 appearances (34 innings) with 39 strikeouts, 12 walks and 25 hits allowed.

“It’s a big hole when he’s not there,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said.

The Braves placed Vizcaino on the 10-day disabled list July 5 because of a strained right index finger. He threw 19 pitches during a scoreless inning for Gwinnett on Monday. Vizcaino said the finger is feeling “a lot better” after resting it over the All-Star break.
