CINCINNATI — The Braves will see a rare sight when they play the Reds on Sunday.

The Reds plan to activate left-hander Amir Garrett from the 10-day disabled list and start him in the series finale. He will be the fifth left-handed starter to face the Braves in 53 games this season, fewest in the majors.

The Braves are 2-2 in games started by lefties. Their .275 batting average against all left-handers entering Saturday ranked third-best in the majors.

Garrett, 25, has been on the 10-day disabled list since May 25 because of right hip inflammation. He made his big-league debut April 7 and was scoreless through his first 12 innings, tied for the second-longest streak to begin a career in Reds history. Garrett gave up a combined 13 earned runs in his last two starts before going on the DL.
