Metro Atlanta is expected to make a return to the 70s Monday under plenty of sunshine, according to Channel 2 Action News.
On the first day of November, the weather is turning a new leaf. Several days of drizzly, cold weather last week felt more like winter than fall, but Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said the city will break out of it Monday.
“A chilly start but a nice finish later this afternoon,” he said. “It looks good for your outdoor plans. It looks great for the next couple of days.”
Temperatures are in the 40s and 50s to begin the day. This afternoon, Monahan said temperatures in some neighborhoods will rise a good 10 degrees above Sunday’s highs in the 60s.
A few fair weather clouds will dot the sky Monday, but he said none will produce any rain. High pressure that built in Sunday should keep the wet weather away for a few days.
“A pretty nice start to the month of November,” Monahan said. “We will bring you some rain chances a little later this week.”
Monahan expects a few more clouds to fill the sky by Tuesday morning, but the city will still be chilly with a projected low of 46 degrees when polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday’s projected high is a slightly cooler 68 degrees.
“It will still be dry, though, for tomorrow, so our Election Day weather looks pretty good,” Monahan said.
Both clouds and rain chances will increase by Wednesday, when showers are 20% likely. A 40% chance of a shower is in Thursday’s forecast, according to Channel 2.
