Atlanta Public Schools will celebrate the $9.6 million renovation of an elementary school at a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday.

Beecher Hills Elementary School reopened in August after a yearlong renovation to the southwest Atlanta school building.

The work was paid for with money from a one-cent sales tax that voters approved in 2016. The renovation included adding a gymnasium and updating the computer lab, cafeteria and classrooms.

The district will celebrate the completion of the project with a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
