The DeKalb County Board of Education's monthly meetings are shifting slightly from their normal place on the calendar.

Most meetings scheduled throughout 2020 will take place on the second Monday of the month. Some will take place later.

Historically, meetings have taken place on the first Monday of each month, barring a holiday or even an unforeseen weather delay.

District officials did not directly address the move in a statement, but mentioned that consideration is given to make sure "sufficient" time exists between meetings so staff can properly prepare.

“The DeKalb County Board of Education plans its meetings to avoid conflicts with dates on the academic calendar,” officials said.
