Morehouse College is investigating comments made on Twitter that suggested they planned to “shoot up” the Atlanta school.

The person complained in a Twitter post Tuesday about being on hold for three hours with the college’s financial aid office and wrote “I’ve decided to become the first black man to shoot up a school.” The message, which has been since deleted, was retweeted more than 100 times.

The person posted a tweet Wednesday morning “Alexa play ‘this is only a joke’ by no need to call the police.”

A Morehouse spokeswoman said Wednesday the college is looking into the post.

Classes are scheduled to start Aug. 15.

Schools are becoming more vigilant in investigating social media posts and messages that could be threatening, particularly after the FBI admitted it ignored a warning by the alleged shooter of a Florida high school in February that killed 17 students and faculty.
