Jan 19, 2016

Two Gwinnett County school board members said this week they will run for re-election.

Carole Boyce announced late Monday that she will run for a fourth term.

Boyce said in a news release she wants to ensure students gain the skills that will put them on the track toward successful careers.

“It is my wish to continue the course of our Board of Education as Gwinnett County Public Schools becomes a highly reliable, world-class school system ensuring success for all students. When public education is done correctly, all elements of society prosper,” Boyce said.

Boyce currently represents District 1, which includes parts of Dacula, Grayson and Lawrenceville.

Louise Radloff, who joined the Gwinnett school board in 1973, said Tuesday she will also run for another four-year term. Radloff, currently represents District 5, which includes parts of Duluth and Norcross.

“I am planning on running,” she said in a telephone interview Tuesday afternoon.

Another incumbent, Mary Kay Murphy, has announced plans to run for re-election, according to published reports.

Candidates others interested in running for the school board seat need to file paperwork between March 7 and March 11. The primary election will be in May and the general election will be in November.
