Atlanta high school football game raises awareness for autism
The South Atlanta High School football team will host “Autism Awareness Night” during their home game against Therrell High School at Lakewood Stadium tonight.
Both teams will wear light blue wristbands, and game attendees can wear light blue to show their support.
Representatives from advocacy organization Autism Speaks will share information and South Atlanta students will distribute informational pamphlets.
South Atlanta High School Head Football Coach Kevin Hill and Mike Perrelli, former Therrell head football coach and a current South Atlanta teacher, both have children with autism. They welcome students, families and the community to the game.
General admission tickets for the game is $7 and children ages five and under will be admitted free.
