One of two women reported missing after being in the care of a Gwinnett County home health worker has been found, according to police.

Linda Williams, 67, was located Tuesday afternoon and is with Adult Protective Services, officials said.

“She was not harmed and her physical and medical needs have been met,” Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Collin Flynn said.

Investigators opened an investigation into Williams’ disappearance earlier this month after her daughter came forward and expressed concern.

Williams, who had last been in the care of Kishia Mitchell, had been missing since December, AJC.com previously reported.

Her daughter contacted police Feb. 12. She was told that her mother was transferred to Adult Protective Services, but when she contacted that agency, there was no record of her mother in the system, according to police.

Mitchell has been wanted since October, when the daughter of another woman, Linda Kimble, reported her mother missing. Kimble was placed into Mitchell’s care after she was discharged from Eastside Emory Hospital in August, according to a report filed by Gwinnett police.

Kimble’s daughter told police that was the last time she saw her mother.

After a series of back-and-forth communications between Mitchell and Kimble’s daughter, the frustrated woman reported Mitchell to police. An investigator got involved and discovered that Mitchell’s employer, Auxilum Care Inc., had been permanently closed.

Kimble has not been seen since.

On Oct. 11, a former patient of Mitchell’s contacted police and told them he had not seen her for two days. The 26-year-old man took police back to his home, where he lived with nine other adults with varying levels of special needs.

“There was no caretaker present, and officers learned that the residents had not eaten or had access to medications in several days,” police said at the time.

Mitchell is facing two counts of exploitation of a disabled or elder person and two counts of unlicensed personal care home, according to police. She also has an active warrant for a probation violation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mitchell or Kimble is asked to contact detectives at 770-513-5300.
