Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan has your forecast

You won’t want to leave your umbrella behind on Tuesday.

The day ahead is set to be a washout with every corner of the state seeing rain, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan.

“There’s a good chance there’s not going to be a whole lot of sun today,” he said.

Scattered showers are expected early in the day, according to Channel 2. The chance of widespread downpours increases heading into the afternoon as a line of storms moves downward through the state.

“Through the mountains, through the metro and down through the south,” Monahan said.

Some areas, including the Southside and Eastside, are already getting a taste of the wet weather.

The soggy trend will continue throughout the week, according to Monahan. Scattered showers are in the forecast every day through Friday.

“Stay with me,” he said. “It’ll be better this weekend.”

The good news is that it’ll be cooler Tuesday, with a high temperature of 82 degrees in the forecast.

Commuters will want to drive a little slower in the wet conditions. Right now, drivers are handling the wet pavement well, according to the  WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

There are no trouble spots on interstates, the Traffic Center reported.
