Thursday will be another clear and cold day for North Georgia, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Temperatures started out below freezing across the region, in the 20s and 30s in metro Atlanta and in the teens in the mountains. Most areas will only make it to about 50 degrees later in the day.

“Lots of sunshine in my forecast, so I’m not worried about any rain impacting the morning or the afternoon drive,” Channel 2 meteorologist Katie Walls said. “Temperatures, however, could make a change to your plans.”
It is colder Thursday than the day before, with temperatures running up to 9 degrees lower in some spots. Unlike Wednesday, Walls said Thursday will not be as blustery.
“This time yesterday we were still dealing with wind gusts in the 30-mph range,” she said. “Not the case this morning, but any wind (is) making it feel even colder out there.”
With a light 10-mph breeze, wind chills were in the 20s in metro Atlanta. The wind has subsided at lunchtime, and the city has finally warmed into the 40s.
“Bottom line: You want to make sure you bundle up,” Walls said.

North Georgia is in for another chilly start Friday, she said. The projected high is 51 degrees for Atlanta.
While it should stay pretty dry to end the work week, Walls said rain chances will gradually increase over the weekend.
“At this point, the best opportunity for rain is going to be arriving late in the day on Saturday,” she said. “I think mainly after sunset but then into your Sunday, that rain could impact plans lingering into Monday.”
Rain is 30% likely Saturday for the official start of winter and 80% likely Sunday, according to Channel 2. Monday’s chance is 60%.
The sunny, dry weather is conducive to daytime construction projects. There are minor roadwork delays at midday, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
Roadwork on I-75 North is blocking the HOV lane at I-285, the Traffic Center reported. There are some delays entering the Cobb Cloverleaf.
In DeKalb County, another crew is working in a right lane on the I-285 inner loop south of Memorial Drive. The closure is causing delays leaving Tucker.
