Dig out your flip-flops (and your passport) and prepare to take advantage of one or more of these bargain airfare deals:

  • Through June 14, travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico (no passport required for U.S. citizens) at one-way rates of $131.70. This rate is valid seven days a week, based on sale seat availability. AirTran offers two daily nonstop flights from Atlanta. Buy tickets through midnight, May 24.
  • Aruba, part of the ABC Netherlands Antillies Island group (along with Bonaire and Curacao), is priced at $152.70 one-way. This Delta Air Lines offer (one daily nonstop flight from Atlanta) is valid on trips finished on or before June 22. Give a three-day advance purchase notice. Trips are permitted seven days a week, based on sale seat availability. Buy tickets through June 22.
  • Travel to the sunny seaside resort town of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Mexico through June 30 at a round-trip sale rate of $377.55. This United Airlines exclusive is valid any day of the week. Go as soon as this weekend as an advance purchase notice is not required. United serves Ixtapa with one connection in Houston. Buy tickets through June 30.
  • American Airlines offers a round-trip rate of $421.90 to Curacao, Netherlands Antilles on trips finished on or before April 19, 2013. This steal-of-a-deal requires a two-week advance notice of travel. This sale rate is not valid Dec. 15-30 to Curacao and Dec. 28-31 or Jan. 2-6 to Atlanta. American serves Curacao with one connection in Miami. This offer has no ticket-by date -- act fast on your purchase.

Sale airfares are always subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate. Since only a limited supply of seats is available, act quickly to make your purchase.

I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel websites such as Expedia or Travelocity, etc. Airlines can discontinue or pull a sale price without notice when the offer does not have a "ticket-by" date or when the offer is deemed "sold out."
