What's not to love about free in this first week of the New Year?

There's no need to open your wallet when visiting Callaway Gardens through Feb. 28. Plan to visit and enjoy the simpler things in life such as spending time with family and friends -- and complimentary admission to Callaway Gardens during January and February.

It may be winter but there are lots of fun things to do and see at Callaway Gardens such as witnessing butterflies emerging and taking flight in the warm, tropical Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center and exploring the beautiful John A. Sibley Horticultural Center with gorgeous floral displays.

The Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center is offering a photography exhibit entitled "America Unnoticed – A Photographer’s Journey" by Patsy Epperson. This exhibit documents Epperson’s experience in nature throughout the country in different seasons.

While visiting, get outdoors for a little exercise on one of the many walking trails or meander through the Gardens on the Discovery Bicycle Trail (bicycles are available for rent or bring your own). It's amazing what wonders nature provides at this time of year.

Callaway Gardens offers the complimentary admission to show appreciation for supporting their mission of connecting man and nature. The gardens are home to a 4,610-acre forest preserve, which is under conservation easement. This conserved, sustainably-managed land is used for biological studies and environmental education programs.

In addition, Callaway Gardens offers over 900 accommodations for overnight guests, restaurants, a full-service spa, shops, golf, tennis, fishing and more.

Open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Callaway Gardens is located in Pine Mountain, about a 90 minute drive south of Atlanta.
