The Cayman Islands invites travelers to join the 33rd annual Pirates Week celebration, a time-honored tradition which runs from Nov. 11-21. Caymanian culture will be celebrated through live music, street games, parades, sports competitions, fireworks, costumes, and an abundance of other activities. With more than 30 events over 11 days, non-stop fun for all ages is guaranteed.

The festival begins in Grand Cayman's capital, George Town, with a pirates' invasion, where two old-time sailing vessels loaded with "pirates" sail into the harbor. Fireworks, costume competitions, food festivals, and a Children's Fun Fair Day kick off the celebrations, and the festival continues through the week with Heritage Days across Grand Cayman and the sister islands of Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.

During Pirates Week, stay three-nights or longer in a one-bedroom suite at the Sunshine Suites. The stay includes a bottle of champagne on arrival; daily breakfast and dinner for two at the Sunshine Grill (a $50 value).

Also included (only on Nov. 18 stays) is a "Pirate's Kidnapping." A band of pirates shall be commandeering a bus to ‘kidnap' guests of the boutique hotel and take them on a shopping tour of George Town like no other. The pirates will arrive at the hotel from around 2:30 p.m. (and when the majority of cruise ship customers have left town) and will ‘kidnap' the more adventurous hotel guests onto their coach. The guests will be driven to George Town where they will enjoy refreshments, special discounts and a lot of fun and laughter in The Island Plaza – Cayman's largest duty-free shopping center.

This package is $135 per night, based on double occupancy and a three-night minimum stay. Refer to booking code PW10.

Pirates Week is not only a celebratory festival, but an ideal time for all to learn about the rich culture and heritage that make the Cayman Islands so distinct. A schedule of events and additional information about Pirates Week can be found at www.piratesweekfestival.com.
