Officials with Orlando International Airport said non-stop flights between Orlando and Havana, Cuba will begin in July.
Officials said that initially the 90-minute flights will depart once a week on Wednesdays with Sunday flights being added later in the summer.
Island Travel & Tours will provide the service using Boeing 737-300 aircraft with a capacity of 120 passengers, according to airport officials.
“With the changing dynamics in the relationship between the U.S. and Cuban governments, we are pleased to offer these flight options to residents in Central Florida,” said Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority in a press release.
Officials said ITT selected Orlando International Airport because 60 percent of Florida's population is within a two-hour drive of the airport.
