Hector Villalba was one of three Atlanta United players who attended Tuesday’s unveiling of the home jerseys for the 2017 inaugural season.

Villalba, a native of Argentina , is on loan with Tijuana in Mexico until Atlanta United starts training camp in January.

Aided by a translator, Villalba spoke to the media for a few minutes on Tuesday:

Q: I remember from your introduction that you like fashion, so what do you think of the design of the kit?

A: I think it’s a beautiful kit. It’s just wonderful. I can’t describe it in other words.

Q: How is your time in Tijuana? How is that experience?

A: Excellent. Excellent. Although I haven’t had the minutes I’ve wanted it has been excellent and a great experience. I’m going back to Tijuana for the playoffs.

Q: When you heard Gerardo Martino was going to be the manager, what were your thoughts and have you had a chance to sit down and talk with him?

A: Basically happiness because of the type of coach “Tata” is and his experience coming from Barcelona and Argentina. I was just happy to have such a coach for this team.

Q: Have y’all played in his preferred systems and how does it fit with your skill set?

A: I’ve played in different formations for different coaches and I’ll assimilate into anything Tata puts forth.

Q: I’m sure y’all have done kit announcements before. How did this compare and how was it being in front of Atlanta United’s fans for the first time?

A: There’s no point in comparison. It seems that everybody was crazy and happy.
