The field is set.

The 30 golfers who will compete at the Tour Championship, the finale of the PGA Tour’s four-event playoff, were determined on Sunday. After a week off, the golfers will arrive at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club for the deciding tournament with the FedEx Cup and its $10 million prize on the line. The first round of the Tour Championship is Sept. 22.

There is a new leader in the point standings, which have been reset for the final event. Dustin Johnson will come to town in the top spot after his victory in the BMW Championship on Sunday. Johnson finished at 23-under for a three-shot win, his third victory in a year that included his first major at the U.S. Open.

Johnson finished ahead of Paul Casey, who was a runner-up for the second straight playoff event and moved into the all-important top five of the FedEx Cup point standings.

Tiger Woods (2007, 2009) and Billy Horschel (2014) won the BMW Championship before going on to win the FedEx Cup championship.

Here is a look inside the FedEx Cup playoffs after the third of four events that cut the field from 70 golfers:

Top five

Johnson leads the group of five golfers who enter the Tour Championship in control of their fate: Win the event and win the FedEx Cup. After Johnson are Patrick Reed, Adam Scott, Jason Day and Casey. Day dropped a spot in the standings after withdrawing with a back injury after eight holes in the final round Sunday.

They are in

Four players jumped into the top 30 with their performances in the BMW Championship, tying a playoff record. Roberto Castro made the biggest jump with his third-place finish. The Georgia Tech product jumped 32 spots in the standings, from 53rd to 21st, to secure his second trip to the Tour Championship. Castro needed to finish in sole possession of fourth place or better to advance.

“I think (making the Tour Championship) is a huge accomplishment for any player, including the top five or 10 players in the world,” Castro said. “I think it means you had a good season and you played well again when it matters. I’ll be very proud to tee it up there.”

Daniel Berger moved from 31st to 26th. J.B. Holmes made a four-foot par putt on No. 18 on Sunday and moved from 42nd to 28th. Charl Schwartzel shot a final-round 64 to secure the final spot in the Tour Championship field as he moved from 43rd to 30th.

They are out

There were some big names who fell out of the top 30 and saw their playoff runs end. Rickie Fowler dropped nine spots to 31st, finishing .57 points behind Schwartzel. Sergio Garcia fell seven places to 32nd and Brooks Koepka fell five spots to 35th. In addition, 2013 FedEx Cup champion Henrik Stenson did not play in the BMW Championship due to a knee injury. He fell eight spots to 36th by not playing.

First timers

Rookies Emiliano Grillo and Si Woo Kim advance to the Tour Championship in their first foray into the playoffs.
