Georgia Tech’s 2024 recruiting class continued to grow after receiving a commitment from tight end Luke Harpring of The Marist School in DeKalb County.

If the name sounds familiar to Georgia Tech fans, it should -- Harpring’s dad Matt is a member of the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame. An honorable mention All-State quarterback at Marist in 1993, Matt Harpring started for four years on the Georgia Tech basketball team from 1994-98 and would eventually have his jersey retired and enter the school’s Hall of Fame.

The younger Harpring is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound tight end who had an official visit with Georgia Tech over the weekend. In announcing his commitment on social media, Harpring is pictured in a No. 15 jersey -- the number of his dad’s retired basketball jersey.
