ESPN’s “College GameDay” is coming to Athens — again — for Saturday’s top-10 matchup between No. 2 Georgia and No. 8 Arkansas (noon, ESPN) at Sanford Stadium.

The top 10 matchup features two of the FBS leaders in scoring defense and total defense.

The pregame show will broadcast from Myers Quad, starting at 9 a.m., and move inside the stadium before kickoff.

Coach Kirby Smart emphasized how important fan support would be Saturday at the offset of his press conference Monday: “We want to continue to encourage our fanbase, I know they’ll turnout and be loud and proud, but really with Gameday there we want to get everyone in the stadium as early as we can.”

The Bulldogs have had a good run lately as a GameDay site. The set was in Athens for last season’s 27-6 win over Auburn. The Bulldogs already have a win this season as GameDay’s featured destination, the 10-3 season-opening win over then-No. 3 Clemson in Charlotte, N.C.

Georgia opened the 2020 season with a 37-10 win against Arkansas and former offensive line coach Sam Pittman, now in his second season as head coach in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Bulldogs are 11-4 all-time against the Razorbacks, but 2-2 between the hedges.
