Apparently, five defensive ends weren’t going to be enough.
The Falcons waited just a couple of hours after their first training-camp workouts to adjust their roster, signing defensive end Efe Obada, a veteran of the British American Football Association who served briefly last season on Dallas’ practice squad.
Also, the Falcons waived wide receiver Daje Johnson, a rookie free agent who played collegiately at Texas.
Obada, a Nigerian who grew up in London, had never played football until two years ago, when he signed with the London Warriors. During two stints on the Cowboys’ practice squad in 2015, he began as a tight end but was moved exclusively to defense.
Obada, who is 6-feet-6 and 265 pounds, was waived in March and was also briefly with Kansas City before the Falcons picked him up. He becomes the sixth defensive end and the 13th defensive lineman in camp.
