Georgia Tech had a supporter of note at the Watsco Center Wednesday night – former Yellow Jackets star Chris Bosh.

Bosh, who played one season for the Jackets in the 2002-03 season and is now with the Miami Heat, spoke to the team before and after its 70-61 loss to Miami. He has made appearances at Tech games previously, both in Miami and at McCamish Pavilion.

“He was phenomenal,” coach Josh Pastner said. “Tremendous words of wisdom. We stopped the pregame talk to let him come talk to the team. I thought it was well worth it and he gave us great words. Very fortunate that he would honor us with his time. I know he’s a busy guy – he’s got a lot going on – but to come here, to be able to say a few words to our guys was great for us.”

Bosh attended the game with his wife Adrienne. Bosh, 32, has not played this season after failing his preseason physical and has missed significant time in each of the previous two seasons due to blood clots. He played his last game in Feb. 2016. Signs about Bosh continuing his career have been mixed, but the two-time NBA champion and 11-time all-star is apparently contemplating retirement.
