March 1, 2016The Buffalo Bills designated former Georgia offensive lineman Cordy Glenn as their franchise player on Tuesday.
The Bills also released high-priced defensive end Mario Williams, freeing room on their payroll to tag Glenn, who was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent.
The $13.7 million designation is essentially a one-year contract offer which Glenn can sign or negotiate a longer-term deal with Buffalo.
Glenn, a 6-foot-6, 345-pound tackle, is from Riverdale. He started 50 games at Georgia.
Glenn was selected in the second round of the 2012 draft and has started 61 games for Buffalo. Last year, he was part of a line that helped the Bills lead the league with 2,432 yards rushing.
