Hawks center Zaza Pachulia's foot injury is worse than originally thought and could keep him out for at least the balance of the regular season. Pachulia suffered what the team said was a strained left foot Friday at Orlando. X-rays were negative and Pachulia said he was felling better Sunday, but he said he could still miss an extended period of time. “We will wait and see how it goes,” Pachulia wrote in a text message Monday. “I'm still hoping to be back this season.”

The Hawks played the same opponent on consecutive days for the first time since Dec. 29 and Dec. 30 2009 against Cleveland. The Hawks lost 95-84 at Philips Arena Dec. 29 and were defeated 106-101 the next day at Cleveland.

Hawks forward Josh Smith was called for his 10th technical foul of the season during Sunday's loss to Toronto. Per league rules, players are suspended one game upon earning their 13th technical foul and another game for each two additional violations.
