J. Upton still feeling some light-headedness

Justin Upton was out of the lineup for Wednesday’s noon game, giving the Braves left fielder another day to recover from a bout of dizziness and light-headedness that forced him out of Tuesday night’s game.

Upton said after the game Wednesday he was still experiencing some of the same symptoms that had him leaving Tuesday’s game after the sixth inning. He wasn’t ruling out a return to the Braves lineup Thursday in Washington but said it would depend on how he felt when he woke up.

“We’ll make that decision tomorrow when I get up,” Upton said. “Obviously I want to be out there with the guys, but if I’m not feeling all right and I can’t help the team, then it’s better to have somebody else out there 100 percent.”

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez didn’t want to exacerbate the issue by playing Upton in the heat of a noon game Wednesday, when it was 90 degrees at first pitch.

“(I feel) a little bit off,” Upton said. “My strength is a little bit down. Other than that I feel pretty good….We’ll see how long it lingers but for the most part I’m hoping I can get back to (feeling like) myself in the next couple days.”
