Braves second baseman Tommy La Stella is in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Mets after he left the previous night’s game with a bruised foot.

La Stella left in the eighth inning of the Braves’ 5-4 victory over the Mets to get treatment. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said La Stella told him after the game he was feeling good and to give him a chance to play the next day.

“Players don’t want to come out of the game,” Gonzalez said. “If they are telling you they are not feeling right, as soon as we get them treatment and as soon as we get them seeing the trainer, the quicker you can get them (back) out on the field. If you let them grind through it, that one day becomes two or three days and now it becomes a big issue.”
