A quick look at the Braves this week:

By the numbers

Pitches, all strikes, needed by reliever Chris Martin to record three outs for an immaculate inning against the Phillies on Wednesday. It was the fifth immaculate inning in team history and the first since Buddy Carlyle in 2007. Martin struck out Cesar Hernandez, Jay Bruce and Logan Morrison.

Home winning streak that was snapped last week, the team’s modern-era record.

Notable

Freddie Freeman is on the verge of his fourth consecutive season hitting .300 or better. The first baseman hit .302 in 2016, .307 in 2017, and .309 last season. Only five Braves in the modern era (since 1900) have hit .300 or better in four consecutive seasons: Hank Aaron, Chipper Jones, Tommy Holmes, Wally Berger and Lance Richbourg.

The Braves have won 90 or more games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2012 (94) and 2013 (96). It’s the 19th time since Major League Baseball went to a 162-game schedule in 1962 that the Braves have reached the 90-win total. Only the Dodgers have more 90-win seasons with 25, including this year.

Quotable

“It’s been nice (being a Brave). It’s been everything I’d thought it’d be.” – Pitcher Dallas Keuchel, who has a 0.97 in his past six starts

“I feel great. Under the circumstances, I didn’t think I’d be in this position right now as quick as I am. But trust in the team docs and medical staff here, I have to give them big props. They’re the reason I’m a week or two ahead of schedule. It’s just a matter of getting back into the swing of things, baseball activities, and progressing each day.” – Nick Markakis after taking batting practice Wednesday after a broken wrist
