Here is a weekly update of how former Braves players are faring:
Brian McCann, C
New York Yankees
After a slow start, McCann hit. 333 in the past week and has raised his average to .257, with three homers and nine RBIs in 20 games. He played first base in the ninth inning Thursday night, handling two throws.
Tim Hudson, P
San Francisco Giants
The standout starter was handed his first loss with his new team Saturday. He 2-1 with a 2.40 ERA and has no walks in 30 innings (20 strikeouts).
Martin Prado, 3B
Arizona Diamondbacks
The popular infielder hit .301 for the 2012 Braves but he’s hitting just .234 this season in Arizona (.190 in the past week). He has no homers and eight RBIs in 24 games.
Eric O’Flaherty, P
Oakland A’s
The lefty reliever is on the disabled listafter elbow surgery but has started throwing again.
Mark Teixeira, 1B
New York Yankees
The former Georgia Tech star has been hampered by a leg injury and played in just eight games. He hit his first homer of the season Thursday night and is hitting .241.
Omar Infante, 2B
Kansas City Royals
The versatile infielder already has 10 RBIs in 19 games.
Adam LaRoche, 1B
Washington Nationals
He’s hitting .316 with four homers and 13 RBIs. A player some Braves fan soured on is up to 221 homers in his career.
Rafael Soriano, P
Washington Nationals
The closer has a 0.00 ERA after nine appearances. Soriano has four saves and a 1-0 record.
Michael Bourn, OF
Cleveland Indians
He’s batting .258 in Cleveland and only played in seven of 22 games. Bourn has also been caught three times in five steal attempts.
Bruce Chen, P
Kansas City Royals
It seems longer than eight years since he pitched for the Braves but he’s still in the majors. The lefty is 1-2 with a 7.45 ERA. His teams since leaving Atlanta: Phillies, Mets, Expos, Reds, Astros, Red Sox, Orioles, Rangers and Royals.
Randall Delgado, P
Arizona Diamondbacks
The Braves chose to keep Julio Teheran and trade Delgado and it was a wise move. He’s 0-1 with a 5.87 ERA in eight games and has allowed 20 hits and walked eight in just 15 1/3 innings.
Yunel Escobar, SS
Tampa Bay Rays
He hit .217 in the past week, .218 this season. Escobar has just one RBI in 22 games.
Kyle Farnsworth, P
New York Mets
The team’s new closer had two saves in the past week and a 1.74 ERA in 11 games.
Jeff Francoeur, OF
El Paso Chihuahuas
Francoeur’s baseball odyssey continues in Triple A. Francoeur has also pitched twice in blowout losses this season, recording a scoreless inning each time. But he’s hitting just .197 in 18 games. Former Braves Brooks Conrad and Blaine Boyer also play for the Chihuahuas.
Paul Maholm, P
Los Angeles Dodgers
The starting pitcher that won 10 games for the Braves last season is off to a rough start in L.A. He’s 0-2 with a 5.60 ERA.
