Updates on former Braves players around baseball:

Jason Heyward, OF

St. Louis Cardinals

He had two hits, including his fifth homer of the season, Wednesday. But the 25-year-old Heyward is hitting only .239 (.158 in the past week).

Craig Kimbrel, P

San Diego Padres

He has not allowed a run in his past three outings and has 12 saves and a 5.00 ERA. The Braves’ replacement, Jason Grilli, has 14 saves and a 4.41 ERA.

Dan Uggla, 2B

Washington Nationals

Uggla got only six at-bats in the past week (with one hit) and is batting .206 this season. He has only four hits and two RBIs in May.

Evan Gattis, OF-DH

Houston Astros

Gattis went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, two RBIs and two runs Wednesday. He has 10 homers and 30 RBIs (29 in his past 30 games) and is hitting .218.

Justin Upton, OF

San Diego Padres

He leads the team in average, home runs, RBI, on-base percentage and hits. Upton has 12 homers and 36 RBIs and is hitting. 293 (.346 in the past week).

Brian McCann, C -1B

New York Yankees

He homered in back-to-back games Tuesday and Wednesday, upping his season total to six. McCann also had RBIs in five consecutive games. He is hitting. 239.

Tim Hudson, P

San Francisco Giants

He gave up eight runs in 3 2/3 innings Sunday and was set to face the Braves on Friday night. Hudson, who has a 216-128 career record, is 2-4 with a 5.04 ERA.

Jeff Francoeur, OF

Philadelphia Phillies

Francoeur, who hit 29 homers with 103 RBIs and a .260 average for the 2006 Braves, is hitting .235 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 40 games.

Aaron Harang, P

Philadelphia Phillies

The 37-year-old right-hander has a 1.93 ERA for a really bad team (the 19-30 Phillies). Harang isn’t getting much run support though and is only 4-4.

Melvin Upton Jr. OF

San Diego Padres

He in the minors, rehabbing from a foot injury and has played six games for the Triple-A El Paso Chihuahuas. Upton is hitting .190 and has struck out seven times.
