Braves third baseman Adonis Garcia was a late scratch from Wednesday’s lineup against the Dodgers because of a bone bruise on his left knee.

Manager Fredi Gonzalez said Garcia suffered the injury when Dodgers left-hander Alex Wood hit him with a pitch in the third inning of Tuesday’s game. Garcia stayed in the game until he was replaced in the top of the ninth inning as part of a double switch.

Gonzalez said he expects Garcia to be available to play in Thursday’s series finale against the Dodgers. Daniel Castro started in Garcia’s place on Wednesday.

Garcia played in each of the first 13 games and entering Wednesday ranked second on the team in on-base percentage (.377) and on-base plus slugging (.733).
