The Braves placed third baseman Adonis Garcia on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday because of left Achilles tendinitis. The team said a corresponding roster move will be announced on Wednesday.

Garcia has started 33 games at third base this season after making 123 starts there in 2016 and 41 in 2015. In 226 career games Garcia is hitting .268 with a .302 on-base percentage and .417 slugging percentage, including .237/.278/.626 this season.

Garcia sat out Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays and Jace Peterson started at third base in his place. Other options on the current roster to play third base include Emilio Bonifacio and Danny Santana.
