How the winning run scored: In their season opener Friday against Charlotte, the Gwinnett Braves fell behind 1-0 before scoring four runs in the fourth inning. The winning run crossed the plate in the seventh, when Tyler Pastornicky drove home Jose Constanza with a one-out double. That made the score 5-2, and the G-Braves held on to win.

At the plate: Pastornicky was 4-for-4 with two doubles. He drove in a run and scored one. Charlotte's Seth Loman was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. The G-Braves scored four runs in the fourth, with Matt Pagnozzi delivering a big two-out, bases-loaded single that produced two RBIs.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Sean Gilmartin (1-0) lasted five innings, allowing one run on six hits. He struck out four and walked two.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves and Knights will play a doubleheader Saturday. The first game is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. Right-hander David Hale is scheduled to pitch the first game for Gwinnett and lefty Daniel Rodriguez the second.
