How the game was won: The Braves answered Justin Turner's first-inning solo shot with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Both runs scored on RBI groundouts.

Juan Uribe broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fifth on a flare single to center that scored Nick Markakis, who led off the inning with a double. Chris Johnson also got a single that inning, part of his 3-for-4, two-RBI day. After Tuesday he was hitting .375 (9-for-24) since July 5.

Alex Wood didn’t have his best stuff, but he pitched well enough to get the win. His final line: 6 2/3 innings, six hits, three runs, four walks and three strikeouts.

Number: 14. After Tuesday, Cameron Maybin had hit safely in 14 of 16 starts in July, going 19-for-65 (.292) with two home runs, eight RBIs and 11 runs scored.

What's next: With a win Wednesday, the Braves would complete their first series sweep since they won three straight against the Mets June 19-21. Julio Teheran (6-4, 4.53 ERA) will start for Atlanta against Los Angeles' Mike Bolsinger (4-3, 3.04 ERA).
