Atlanta United re-signed Efrain Morales for the 2024 MLS season, with the club holding options for ‘25 and ‘26.

Morales, a 19-year-old Homegrown signee centerback, has yet to make an appearance for Atlanta United. He made 20 appearances for Atlanta United 2 in MLS Next Pro during the recently completed season. He made six appearances for Atlanta United 2 in 2021 and four in 2020.

Morales trained as a 15-year-old at Manchester United for eight days in 2020. He started as a central midfielder before moving to centerback.

A native of Suwanee, Morales was selected in Atlanta United’s first academy classes in 2016 as a member of the U12 team.

It is unlikely that Morales will make any appearances in the 2024 season because of his inexperience. The club has two centerbacks, Luis Abram and Noah Cobb, another Homegrown signee, signed for 2024.
