Atlanta United goalkeeper Brad Guzan on Wednesday thanked everyone who is "going to work to keep the country running" during the COVID-19 pandemic gripping the globe.

“I hope everyone stays safe and healthy, listens to the CDC guidelines,” he said. “The quicker everyone can get on that and do the social distancing to make sure we can try to slow the spread of this and give our healthcare professionals a boost and helping hand where we can. They are the true heroes.

“You look at what they are doing. It’s a tremendous effort from them. With three little ones and going through school work with them, we all have a huge appreciate for teachers and what they bring to our communities.

“A big shoutout to those people and people at grocery stores and people going to work to keep the country running. It allows the rest of us to have the essentials.”

MLS, which includes Atlanta United, is on hiatus.
