Will home insurance disappear in disaster-prone states?
Across the US, more than 40 million homes are at risk from climate-related disasters like wildfires, flooding and damaging winds. Georgia alone got hit with 13 separate billion-dollar events in 2024. As this happens, insurance companies are limiting new home insurance policies in disaster-prone states as they face climbing coverage costs.
