The playgrounds at Newtown Park in Johns Creek will be closed for about two weeks beginning April 3 while the city’s Recreation and Parks Department replaces equipment.

The new playgrounds, which are separate but adjacent, will be age-specific, with one intended for children up to 8 years old and the other for children 9 to 14 years old. The younger playground will include swings, rockers, a horse see-saw and a structure with interconnected platforms, ladders, steps, and a slide. The playground for older kids will offer a climbing wall, several ladders, a variety of sliding and climbing elements.
