After Monday afternoon’s wild weather, Tuesday is expected to be relatively calm across North Georgia.
“A lot quieter already to start the morning,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “This time yesterday, we were already tracking storms. None of that right now. It’s nice and dry if you’re headed into school and headed into work.”
Gooooood morning! After a wild weather afternoon yesterday, it's much quieter this morning across north Georgia as #Isaias races up the east coast.

Looking back at yesterday's storm damage + ahead at quieter weather -- at 4:30am on Channel 2! @wsbtv
Temperatures are currently in the upper 60s in most areas and will continue to increase throughout the day.
The predicted high in Atlanta is 90 degrees, according to Channel 2.
“We are going to keep a good deal of sunshine in the forecast,” Monahan said, adding that about 11 of the 13 daylight hours will be sunny.
We had hail, a possible weak tornado (near Cumberland Mall), and a likely microburst (Lake Lanier) yesterday...

North Georgia, however, is not completely in the clear.
In a statement, the National Weather Service said areas of low clouds and fog will continue to develop.
“The fog will be locally dense, reducing visibilities to less than a half-mile at times,” the Weather Service said in the statement. “The low clouds and fog should lift by 9 a.m. this morning.”
Storms are still in the forecast, but they won’t be as severe, Monahan said. Isolated storms may blow in late in the afternoon, but should move out by the evening hours.
Tropical Storm Isaias won’t have any impact on Georgia on Tuesday, Monahan said. The storm made landfall Monday as a hurricane on the coast of the Carolinas. Right now, it is moving up the coast toward Canada, bringing heavy rain and 70 mph winds along with it.
“It is going to be an ugly day up across the mid-Atlantic,” he said. The storm is expected to weaken within the next 24 hours.
Dry pavement is good news for the morning commute in metro Atlanta. According to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center, there are only a couple of trouble spots.
Duluth Highway is closed just east of Buford Highway due to a serious injury crash in Gwinnett County. At least one person was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries but is stable. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes to get around the backups, Duluth police said in a tweet.
