1. Back-to-back funerals planned for Paulding teens killed in wreck

A federal judge—after reviewing the Georgia Aquarium's permit application—ruled Monday that the aquarium lost a legal battle to import 18 beluga whales from Russia. Government agency NOAA Fisheries said the aquarium failed to show that the importing of the whales would not be likely to have a negative impact on the stock of whales in the area they were captured. 3. Gissendaner's scheduled execution still uncertain
The Parole Board has decided just eight hours before Kelly Renee Gissendaner's scheduled execution for the murder of her husband that it will hear from her advocates for a second time. 5. UGA student held in dorm rape
According to a University of Georgia Police Department report, Bamidele O. Oluwadare, 19, is accused of raping a coed in her dorm room on Sept. 20. According to an AthensOnline.com report, Oluwadare was a student assistant with Family and Graduate Housing. The suspect was being held without bond Monday in the county jail. Read more.
