Light rains should hit metro Atlanta early Saturday Morning.
Isolated to strong storms are expected to hit about 10 a.m., Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said. Showers are should be clear by 1 p.m. Showers are expected to hit the metro area about 4 p.m. Sunday.
But there is a bright side: This has been a record-breaking week for Atlanta.
First, temperatures hit the 70s for a ninth consecutive day, according to Channel 2.
Atlanta reached 74 degrees, tying the record high for this day, which was set in 1927, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
Temperatures just before 10:30 p.m. were 63 degrees in Atlanta, 52 in Blairsville and 57 in Griffin.
Friday, however, should be the last day Atlanta sees temperatures in the 70s. According to Channel 2, the expected high is 69 degrees Saturday, when thousands are expected to march from the Center for Civil and Human Rights to the state capitol at 1 p.m. for a "march for social justice and women." The forecast calls for a high of 67 degrees Sunday, the day the Atlanta Falcons play the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game at the Georgia Dome at 3 p.m.
