While there is a chance of isolated storms around metro Atlanta this weekend, they should not put a damper on what looks to be a beautiful, comfortable Saturday.
After a clear night, Saturday morning will be partly cloudy but dry, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz.
“We’ll have a few clouds building in,” Nitz said, “If you have outdoor plans the first half of the day, no problems.”
The temperature will warm to the mid-80s, topping out at 86 degrees with a few isolated thunderstorms predicted in the afternoon.
“The second half of the day, talking afternoon and early evening, we’ll have some isolated showers, a few rumbles of thunder possible,” Nitz said. “But coverage is pretty limited.”
Most areas around town will stay dry, according to Nitz, but for those who do see rain, it will likely be brief and intense.
The same pattern will hold for Sunday, with a forecasted high of 87 degrees and more scattered showers predicted.

Traffic should be relatively calm Saturday, with just a few roadwork projects around the metro area and no major sporting events.
In Clayton County, lane closures will be installed in both directions on I-75 at the interstate’s junction with I-285, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. The closures are part of the same project that has installed a longer-term closure of the I-75 North entrance ramp from Forest Parkway.
Sections of I-85 will have lane closures in DeKalb County as crews work on bridge rehabilitation, with three lanes closed between Shallowford Road and Chamblee Tucker Road.
Roadwork crews will be busy in Fulton County over the weekend on a couple of different projects. The first involves restriping I-85 in both directions between Senoia Road and Metropolitan Parkway. On the north side of town, three lanes will be closed on I-75 South between Mount Paran Road and West Paces Ferry Road.
Drivers will want to avoid downtown Sunday when multiple large sporting events will descend. Atlanta United will play against the New York Red Bulls in Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 3:30 p.m. Later Sunday night, the Atlanta Hawks will face off against the Milwaukee Bucks at neighboring State Farm Arena for game three of the Eastern Conference Finals at 8:30 p.m.
