Quarterback Jameis Winston is the most famous student attending Florida State University -- not just for his Heisman-winning athletic abilities but for his off-the-field behavior, including a rape allegation, which has for critics become emblematic of a larger discipline problem at the school.

Winston's name pops up a lot -- including, apparently, during tragedies, such as the Thursday morning shooting at the FSU library. That's when a man, identified by the Associated Press as Myron May, wounded three students before he was killed in a shootout with police.

The SaintPetersBlog reports that May posted about Winston on his Facebook page on Nov. 7: "Now, either Jameis is one of the most depraved people to ever play college football or somebody is really out to get this fellow."

Winston's name also appeared in Twitter conversations about the shooting:

All of these after an ESPN campus reporter tweeted, "Reported gunman on the FSU campus. Maybe he is heading for Jameis."

She has since deleted her account.
