Cobb County police have arrested a man accused of fondling himself while half-naked in a park, then charging at two women who spotted him.

William John Jacobson Jr., 34, of Dallas, was arrested Wednesday and charged with public indecency and simple battery. Police said he confessed to the crime during an interview. He is being held in the Cobb County Detention Center.

Investigators released a GBI artist’s sketch to help identify a suspect, according to Officer Mike Bowman with Cobb police.

Two women told police they were walking in Kennesaw National Park on Cheatham Hill Road, near Marietta, when they saw the man in the woods, Bowman said. The man was nude from the waist down and was fondling himself, the women told police.

The suspect then charged at the women, knocking one to the ground, before he got into a faded red, mid-90s model Ford pickup truck and drove west on Dallas Highway, toward Paulding County, according to police. The National Park Service is assisting with the investigation.

Police believe additional, similar incidents may have occurred, Bowman said. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Cobb police at 770-499-3945.
