A motorist in Minnesota had a surprising wildlife encounter recently.
That’s because an owl diving for prey ended up stuck in the grille of Kenneth Love’s car.
According to KSTP, it was the middle of the night, and the owl came flying at the vehicle so fast that Love had little time to react. The owl struck the vehicle with such force that it became lodged in the front of the automobile.
Love drove to a nearby friend’s house and called police.
The owl was unable to free itself, and the bird nipped at Love when he tried to come to the bird’s aid.
Officers, using a towel and thick gloves, were able to free the bird and place it in a cage. The Minnesota Raptor Center was called for assistance.
The dramatic photos of the stuck owl are quickly going viral on Twitter.
