Following similar proclamations in the Fayette-Coweta area, the city of Senoia announced emergency measures on Friday related to COVID-19 precautions.

Effective until noon on April 10, the declaration limits public and private gatherings outside of a household to 10 people or fewer, except for services deemed essential by the state. Restaurants must discontinue dine-in services but can operate for pickup, delivery or drive-through as long as employees and patrons maintain a 6-foot distance. Gyms, nail salons, entertainment venues and similar businesses must remain closed. Grocery stores, pharmacies and other essential locations must post signs at their entrances reminding customers to maintain 6-foot distances or limit the number inside to 10 at a time. Senoia residents are asked to shelter at home except for emergencies, food and medicine, work-related travel or personal exercise.

City Manager Harold Simmons was given authority to make decisions regarding interpretation and enforcement of the ordinance.
