A road project will intermittently interrupt traffic on I-575 in Cobb County from Thursday and through Saturday morning.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will close a northbound lane of I-575 from north of the I-75 interchange to Bells Ferry Road from 9 p.m. Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday and during the same times Friday into Saturday.

Crews will be doing asphalt paving work for the Northwest Corridor Express Lanes.

The NWC project will add 29.7 miles of express lanes along I-75 from Akers Mill Road to Hickory Grove Road and along I-575 from I-75 to Sixes Road, according to GDOT.
