All but one northbound lane of I-85 was shut down in South Fulton for several hours Friday after a motorcyclist was ejected and killed.

The motorcyclist was entering the interstate from Senoia Road and attempted to merge before the gore, according to South Fulton police. The victim lost control, was thrown from the bike and died at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved, and the victim has not been identified.

Authorities closed several lanes from 7:30 a.m. until about noon while they investigated. During that time, only a left lane was getting by, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

Another deadly Southside wreck contributed to major delays through Henry and Clayton counties Friday morning. That investigation completely closed I-75 South and diverted traffic off I-675 for more than three hours.
